Sorry for the radio silence recently. I hate to say it but I’ve been too busy to blog. I really can’t believe I’m saying that because it goes against everything I believe in. You see, I have several mottos in life and one of them is this:

You are never too busy for anything. It all depends on how you set your priorities.

Well, believe me, this blog IS my priority. So, I’m giving myself a pass this time because I really have been too busy to blog. You see, since we last talked I’ve had 2 sweet little grandbabies visiting me…

and my own baby (my youngest son) Austin turned 18. He decided we should celebrate by taking a cooking class together where we prepared Indian food. Everyone got in on the act and it was delicious fun! Eventually my grandson however, fell asleep on the job!

I also co-hosted an 88th Birthday Party & Book Signing for my dear old dad…

and prepared all the food, Spanish of course. If you’d like to read my dad’s wonderful memoirs of his absolutely fascinating life you can purchase the book on Amazon here.

And then it was Easter. I made Easter baskets for my Grandbabies…

and we enjoyed a wonderful Easter Brunch with extended family and friends at the beautiful Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.

In addition to all this I’ve been spending considerable time at my “New” Old Log Cabin, working on the renovation which is coming along at breakneck speed.

I’ll be posting about the progress soon. In the meantime you can learn more about my vacation rental homes by clicking on the “Renovate” button above or here.

So, that’s what I’ve been up too lately. I’ll be sharing much more about it all with you very shortly so please stay tuned. I’m also packing for another trip to Colorado. We are taking Austin to see The University of Colorado at Boulder, another school that sent him the “fat envelope”. I understand it is a stunningly beautiful place so I’ll take lots of photos to share with you. In the meantime it’s very beautiful here on my mountain top where Spring is in the air.

So there you have it: TOO BUSY TO BLOG

  • Wow and I thought I was busy!!!

  • HA HA!!! Yes, but I must say I love being busy. Next month it’s Lake Nacimiento time and wine tasting in Central California. Can’t wait!!

  • Therese

Hi Celia! Be sure & drop by the family winery when you’re up there! Let me know & I’ll give them a heads up. Oh, and I’m ordering your Dad’s book. Can’t wait to read it!

  • You are one busy lady, but what fun times! Love seeing your precious grandchildren and what a great way to celebrate your son’s birthday – love the idea! Happy weekend ~

  • Thanks so much for your very sweet comments.

  • Thanks for reminding me about your winery Therese. I’ll see if we can fit it into the schedule, as I’d love to see it! And thanks so much for reading my dad’s book. He will be very interested to hear what you think.

Hi Celia, I love reading your posts. You are so creative and inspiring! That cabin is looking good. I have a question, I currently live in Chicago but am renting a home in Orange County, (Monarch Bay, Dana Point) for the next 12 months. I have lots of free time during the day while my husband works. A foodie friend is coming to visit next month. Do you know of any fun cooking schools near that area? We would probably be interested in a daytime class. Any other ideas for two adventurous ladies? Thanks for your thoughts. Pam Zwieg, Barrington, Illinois & OC

  • Hi Pamela and welcome to California. Thank you for your kind comments. It’s a small world, my husband has relatives in Barrington, Il. As for cooking schools in The OC I can’t think of one other than the classes they offer at Sur La Table. You could make the 1.5 hour drive to Redlands and take a class at The Cooking Block that I showed in the blog. They list their classes on their website here:

Thanks Celia, I have been exploring all things cooking here in Orange County. Thank you for the Cooking Block link, I may check that out as it is not terribly far. I have found a place in Laguna Niguel that has fun cooking demos… So that is inspiring me while here. Love how your cabin is looking. We have a log home in Northern Wisconsin and enjoy all the time we can there. Funny you have relatives in Barrington….truly it is a small world after all. Happy Summer and enjoy the graduation festivities. 🙂
