SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 25
Greetings and thanks so much for stopping in to Sundays With Celia Vol 25. This post is a week overdue, as I failed to bring you Sundays With Celia last week. As you can imagine, life got in the way during this super busy time of year. Between doing the last of my Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, planning holiday meals and hosting 2 dinner parties, I just couldn’t find time to sit down at my computer.
Looking Back on Sunday
One of the 2 holiday dinner parties I hosted last week was for my Comfort Food Group. Be sure to check out my post entitled, “How To Host A Casual Comfort Food Dinner” for lots of comforting tips, a comfort food menu and a great party favor too.
Later in the week I posted a tutorial on How To Make Homemade Peppermint Bark. Everyone loves this special holiday treat but it tends to be very expensive. Instead, you can make your own Peppermint Bark without a lot of effort and expense by following my tutorial. They make great hostess gifts, teacher gifts, party favors and stocking stuffers.
Tales of the White House On Sunday
Last week the good folks over at FamousDC (my son’s firm) brought us a video interview with White House Reporter Kate Andersen Brower. She’s the author of two bestselling books, both of which I’ve ordered as Christmas gifts to myself because I’ll admit it, I’m fascinated by all things regarding the White House.
To quote Famous DC, ” These two books take a close look into the private lives of America’s most public family – the First Family. Kate shares with us stories she’s heard along the way – from butlers and groundskeepers to kitchen staff and close confidants, the inside scoops on former Commander in Chiefs and their wives might vary, but the insight they provide is nothing short of entertaining.”

Getting Ready For Christmas On Sunday
It’s gift wrapping central around my house these days.
Santa brings the red & green gifts for the grandbabies and the gold gifts are for the grownups. Think about it, why would Santa have the same wrapping paper & ribbon that Grandma does? What I’m Watching on Sunday
This time of year there’s usually a bonanza of new films hitting the theater just in time for Christmas. My family likes to go to the movies together over the holidays and this year there are several good looking films I’m very anxious to see. And speaking of The White House…
Jackie – Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy fights through grief and trauma to regain her faith, console her children, and define her husband’s historic legacy.
Manchester By The Sea looks like a heartwarming film about an uncle who is forced to take care of his teenage nephew after the boy’s father dies.
La La Land – The Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone movie tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
