Make beautiful Ice Bowls by freezing flowers, fruits, vegetables, greenery, you name it, between a layer of ice. Then serve food and beverages in the bowls. A beautiful way to both serve food and keep it cold at the same time.

Ingredients
  • 3 Large Navel Oranges
  • Holly Leaves
  • Holly Berries
Instructions
  1. Line a large glass bowl with the orange slices, then add some holly & berries.
  2. As an alternative to the holly you could use orange tree leaves and fresh cranberries.
  3. Place a second glass bowl on top of the fruit. Pour water between the bowls to ½ inch from the top.
  4. Place the bowls in the freezer and freeze them overnight.
  5. When you’re ready to use your Ice Bowls remove them from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes until the bowls separate easily.
  6. Do not run them under water.
  7. Remove the top bowl.
  8. Next, invert the bottom bowl onto a flat plate. Place it back in the freezer until ready to use.
  9. Once you’re ready to use your beautiful Ice Bowl carefully invert it onto a serving platter or stand. The bowls end up being about ½" thick so they stay frozen at room temperature for a good while. Make sure to place your ice bowl in a bowl or plate to catch drips as the ice melts.
  10. Use your beautiful Ice Bowl to serve beverage while at the same time keeping them cold.
Notes
The bowls are also perfect for serving Fresh Shrimp. In this case I'd perhaps line my ice bowl with fresh dill. You could even make yourself a smaller ice bowl to hold cocktail sauce.
