VALENTINE MARSHMALLOW TREATS

- 1 cube (1/2 cup) Butter
- 8 cups Miniature Marshmallows
- Red Food Coloring
- 12 Cups Puffed Rice Cereal
- 1 Bag White Chocolate Chips
- 4.8 Oz. Jar Nonpareils (or candy sprinkles of your choice)
- Coat a 9" x 13" x 2" baking pan liberally with nonstick cooking spray.
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium low heat.
- Add miniature marshmallows and a few drops of red food coloring to achieve desired color.
- Stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Add puffed rice cereal and stir until well coated.
- Using a buttered rubber spatula or wax paper, evenly press the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Coat a heart shaped cookie cutter with nonstick cooking spray and cut into heart shapes.
- Or use a knife to cut into squares, rectangles or desired shape.
- Melt chocolate chips according to package instructions.
- Dip marshmallow treats in melted chocolate, then dip in nonpareils.
- Place on a sheet of parchment or waxed paper to cool.
- Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.
- To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container.
- Freeze for up to 6 weeks.
