HOW BREAKFAST SHOULD BE SERVED
Good Morning!
Have you had your breakfast yet?
Even though breakfast might just be my favorite meal of the day, I seldom start my weekday mornings with more than a Cafe Latte and a piece of toast.
On weekends, however, I love to prepare a nice breakfast. But my favorite thing of all is to go out for breakfast. So, after spending nearly $1,200.00 recently for an overnight stay at The Inn At Little Washington, which included the best dinner I ever ate, I was hoping for an equally special breakfast. Well, I was not disappointed. The breakfast they served us was, in my opinion, how breakfast should be served!
Wouldn’t it be nice to have breakfast served to you every morning? It would be so lovely to sit down in a beautiful dining room with the morning sun peaking through…
and then have a friendly waiter present you with a menu created by one of the world’s most celebrated chefs.
But, before you even have a chance to decide what to order from the delicious sounding things on the menu…
they bring you all kinds of complimentary stuff. It starts with a carafe of delicious homemade cashew granola…
that is accompanied by a trio of fresh raspberries, Greek yogurt and blueberries…
that is eaten out of beautiful china.
Then they bring out a basket of freshly baked breads, croissants and muffins…
that are served with your choice of 6 different homemade jams, jellies, honey and fresh churned butter.
Next, you are served a selection of 4 freshly squeezed fruit juices. AMAZING!!!
It is only then that they bring you the items you have selected from the menu. In our case, my husband ordered the Trio of Classic American Breakfast Favorites in Miniature.
that included an Oatmeal Soufflé with Rum Soaked Currants and Maple Syrup, Chorizo Hash with a Poached Egg, and Scrambled Eggs with Dill.
I selected the Brioche French Toast…
that was served with warm Blackberry Sauce and Maple Syrup.
All breakfasts also include a ration of Virginia Ham and Bacon.
And, as though that were not enough, they bid you a good morning in 13 different languages.
For me breakfast will never, ever be the same.
So there you have it: How Breakfast Should Be Served.
