HOW TO BE 2 PLACES AT ONCE

Hi friends!

Thanks for stopping in.  Right this minute I am actually in 2 places at once. That’s because I am delighted to tell you that today I am guest blogging over on one of my favorite blogs.  It’s called 702 Park Project, and I hope you’ll pop on over there, meet my host Sarah, and read my guest blog post. While you’re there, I hope you’ll leave her a comment and tell her I sent you.

My post is all about a visit I made to a wonderful community called River Dunes in North Carolina. Since Sarah is from the great state of North Carolina, I thought it apropos to feature her state in my guest post.

North Carolina is where blogger Sarah chronicles the restoration of her 1902 American Foursquare home. Below is a photo of what Sarah’s home looked like when she bought it.

But here’s the really awesome part about that house; it was formerly owned by the grandmother of Sara’s husband, Charles. Charles’ dad grew up in the house, but when Grandmother Mildred passed away in 2003, the home was sold to unrelated folks who, over the course of the following 10 years, let the home fall into disrepair. In 2013 it went into foreclosure and Sarah and her husband snapped it up for a steal. They have since poured their life saving into its restoration, and every step of the way Sarah has been blogging about the progress. While it is still a work in progress, here’s what it looks like today.

What makes this house particularly special to Sarah and Charles is something else really, really special. You see, when Charles was born, his grandmother Mildred purchased some stock in his name.  Over the course of the following 29 years the value of that stock increased to the point that Charles was able to cash it in and use the proceeds to purchase Mildred’s home, using Mildred’s money. Imagine that!  As Sarah said, “Goosebumps, right?” In fact, it makes me want to run right out and buy some stock for my 2 under 2 grandchildren!

So, as I’ve said, today I’m bi-coastal, blogging here in California, and also blogging 3,000 miles away in North Carolina.  I hope you’ll make the trip too, and see what’s going on over at 702 Park Project.

So there you have it: HOW TO BE 2 PLACES AT ONCE
