A VISIT TO MY LOG CABIN
Hello there!
Since closing escrow a few weeks ago on my new/old log cabin in Fawnskin, near Big Bear Lake, California, I have had little time to devote to what will soon be my latest renovation project.
That’s because up until last Saturday I have been devoting most of my spare time to preparing for the Kitchen Tour that took place last Saturday.
My dear friend and interior designer extraordinaire, Lisa Sanford of Shutter’s Home and her husband Tony came in from Scottsdale, Arizona to help me with the Kitchen Tour. So on Sunday, after successfully pulling off a great event, we all heaved a large sigh of relief, packed up a picnic lunch of leftover Paella and Tapas…
and headed off to Big Bear Lake to show Lisa and Tony our new acquisition. Fall had arrived, the leaves were turning and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful.
Lisa and I took a little walk…
while the guys had a beer on the porch.
I wanted to show Lisa the neighboring log cabin that is just so very charming. From our porch you get a peek of their little guest cottage.
To the left of the guest cottage is the main cabin, what I wanted Lisa to see.
As an interior designer she has a great love of rustic charm, and boy was she charmed by this place. We only wished the owners were there so we could introduce ourselves and get a peek inside. But alas, no such luck.
So we had a look at the guest cottage out back…
and the picture-perfect rowboat in front…
before strolling back to our cabin.
We found that the guys had warmed up the leftover Paella…
and set out the leftover Tapas…
and all was right with the world. This is a feel-good place that I look forward to enjoying. I’ll be keeping you posted as I make progress on the renovation.
So there you have it: A VISIT TO MY LOG CABIN
