THE VALENTINE
Hello,
It’s February already and Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.
For many years of my life, this was a time of year I’d be working with my kids on the Valentine cards and goodies they would share with their classmates. Sadly for me, these kind of activities expired when my boys graduated from elementary school. Perhaps I’ll begin the tradition again soon as my grandchildren enter school. I still love Valentine’s Day and enjoy collecting inspiration and ideas on my Pinterest board entitled “The Valentine”. So today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorites from lots of very talented folks.
There are so many wonderful ways to give a valentine and a treat. This DIY Valentine Cake Pop comes to us from a wonderful website called 100 Layer Cake-let, an offshoot of the great wedding website called 100 Layer Cake.
The great thing about this is you can download the free printable for the darling tags here.
Find more cute Rainbow Heart Cake Pops on another favorite website, The TomKat Studio. These would be perfect to package in a cellophane bag, tie with a ribbon and attach a Valentine.
Or, you could make homemade Heart Lollipops with a recipe from Eat Pray Bake…
or Rice Krispy Hearts with directions from Paper Cake Finds, or Marshmallow Hearts on a Stick from Mother Thyme.
These lovely “Love Bird” cookies on a stick from Rachelle’s Beautiful Bespoke Cakes would make a great Valentine treat.
Martha Stewart published a recipe for these “Creamy Fudge Hearts” here. YUM!
And if you’re not so crafty, Martha will also sell you these cute Heart Gift Boxes here. Just fill them with your favorite Valentine Cookies.
Then there are these Valentine Treat Bags from Twig & Thistle. Just download the free printable here and fill it with your favorite Valentine treat.
And I love this idea of filling a cellophane bag with a cookie or candy, tying it up with string and adding a felt heart. How simple is that? I found it here on Flicker.
Here is another winning idea from The TomKat Studio, perfect packaging for your favorite Valentine treat. Plus, you can purchase everything to make them right on The TomKat Studios website.
I’m loving these vintage envelopes, also perfect to house a treat and a valentine message. A free printable for these can be found here on Ella Claire.
Or how about these DIY “You’re Dynamite” treat containers. Get all the instructions necessary to make them here from Sugar & Cloth.
Another of my favorite websites, Poppytalk, is sharing “10 Free Pretty Printable Valentines” here. You could use their printable, “As far as friends go you take the cake” and package a valentine cupcake like this.
In fact, you could make these cute “Queen of Hearts” cupcakes from Not Quite Nella to package with your printable Valentine.
I think I might just make some of this yummy looking Valentine Bark from “Seeded at the Table”. You can find the recipe here.
Or you could make sugar cookies and place them in cello bags topped with this free printable Valentine card from Everyday Occasions.
And these look easy enough to make if you know how to sew. They are bags made by sewing up parchment paper. LOVE!
I hope you are having a real sweet day…
So there you have it: THE VALENTINE
Sending love…
