MY ULTIMATE GUIDE TO THE 4TH OF JULY
Hi there!
It’s hard to believe the 4th of July is almost here.
It seems like yesterday that we were celebrating the 4th on our dock here in Lake Arrowhead.
But another year has come and gone and now it’s time to plan for this year’s celebrations. So, to help you plan your own holiday fete here is my ultimate guide to the 4th of July.
PATRIOTIC TABLESCAPE:
It goes without saying that Red, White & Blue is the obvious choice for a 4th of July color scheme and it’s easy to find inexpensive holiday decor this time of year. From flags to flowers, to paper lanterns and stars and stripes, here are some ways I have found to decorate for the 4th.
PATRIOTIC PARTY FAVOR:
Last year I gave my dinner guests Red, White & Blue Candied Apples to take home. Click on the photo for the easy DIY instructions.
COCKTAILS:
Start your celebration with one of these 2 refreshing and patriotic libations that are certain to please:

Oh so refreshing and as cocktails go, a relatively healthy choice as well.
APPETIZERS:
Here are links to my favorite cheesy and delicious appetizer/dip recipes:
1. Pimento Goat Cheese Dip – My spin on this classic southern recipe.
2. Lemon & Feta Cheese Dip – Tangy and delicious and loved by all.
3. Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Lemon Garlic Allioli – So good they will disappear before your eyes.
4. Bruschetta, Lentil & Feta Cheese Dip Recipe – A healthy choice and oh so easy to make.
SALAD:
I have got 2 perfectly perfect salad recipes for you.
This almost red, white & blue salad is simply the best coleslaw you will ever taste. It’s my Wood Ranch BBQ knockoff recipe and it’s a darn good one.
Next is my WORLD’S BEST RED POTATO SALAD recipe which really is the very best you will ever taste. Once you make it you will never settle for another potato salad recipe again, guaranteed!
MAIN COURSE:
You gotta grill on the 4th of July and no matter what you decide to make, make it extra special by smothering it in CELIA’S AWARD WINNING DRY RUB RECIPE. It makes meat & ribs, chicken & fish all taste better!
DESSERT:
I can’t think of a more American dessert than S’mores. And since you are likely grilling or building a bonfire, S’mores is the natural choice. I set up this S’mores Bar for my son’s graduation party and it was a huge hit. The photo below has also been a big hit on my Pinterest Page where it has been repinned 2,580 times and has 254 likes. It’s one of my most popular pins which is a good indication that everyone loves S’mores.
However, if bonfires and BBQ’s are not in your plans for the 4th, I’ve got a simple recipe for delicious S’MORES POPS for you.
So here’s wishing you a wonderful 4th of July.
