BEAUTIFUL WINTER WONDERLAND
Greetings from Lake Arrowhead, which is a beautiful winter wonderland at the moment. El Niño has kept his promise and plummeted us with several feet of snow. This is what I woke up to this morning. Fortunately the clouds decided to part for a short while, giving the snow plow a chance to clear my street.
Unfortunately they don’t plow my driveway. After spending several hours shoveling the snow from it last night, this is what we woke up to this morning! Another foot of snow.
I’m not really complaining, mind you. I actually get a lot of pleasure out of shoveling snow. It’s great exercise and there’s a sense of accomplishment when you’ve finally finished and have something to show for your efforts.
That’s why I’ve never hired anyone to do this work for us.
Over the years, we’ve gone through several snow blowing machines, none of which did as good a job as we could do ourselves with an old fashioned snow shovel. Although I have no intention of shoveling the walkway to the front door.
And the birds are just going to have to wait until the fountain thaws out. I kind of prefer it filled with snow anyway.
And so much for them using the bird bath on the back terrace. We won’t be using the terrace for a while either. But that’s OK, as I like how the snow blankets the pretty wrought iron chair I designed for the terrace.
And see those windows there? That’s my bar. It’s where I’ll be building a roaring fire and enjoying a hot toddy with my husband tonight.
So from my home to yours, I’m sending you very warm wishes from our beautiful winter wonderland. This is one of the many reasons I ran for the hills. I love my life After Orange County!
So there you have it: BEAUTIFUL WINTER WONDERLAND
