CELEBRATING EASTER AT THE LANGHAM HUNTINGTON HOTEL
I am tickled pink that my DC dwelling son and his family will be joining us here in Lake Arrowhead again this year for Easter week. I don’t think we will be celebrating easter at the Langham Huntington Hotel again this year, but we sure did have a great time there last year.
You may recall that at this time last year we had a fantastic cocktail/birthday/book signing party for my dear old dad in the amazing Tournament of Roses Suite on the very top of the Huntington Hotel.
We totally surprised him on his 88th birthday, complete with all his friends and family and lots of fabulous Spanish food and cocktails.
The following day our extended family enjoyed all of the wonderful Easter festivities at The Huntington Hotel. It was quite nostalgic for me because as a Southern Californian who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, I celebrated Easter at this beautiful, historic hotel many times over the years. I have sweet childhood memories of time spent here, and was so thrilled that we could carry on the tradition with my Grandchildren.
If you live in Southern California and are looking for a wonderful place to celebrate Easter, I highly recommend The Langham Huntington Hotel. They have everything from an Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny, to Train Rides and a Petting Zoo, to a very decadent Easter Brunch.
See that expansive lawn in the photo below? It’s called the Horseshoe Garden and it is here that the hotel conducts its Easter Egg Hunt.
Every child receives an individual Easter basket to fill with special treats. The Easter Bunny is there to help guide the children on their exciting search for goodies. It’s complimentary for all dining guests.
My Grandson, who wasn’t quite walking yet at the time, got a little help from the adults.
And my Granddaughter had a fun time riding around the grounds of the hotel in the Easter train. They both had fun at the Petting Zoo that included friendly goats, chickens and bunnies.
But in truth, what we all enjoyed most was the decadent Easter Brunch. I must admit it was nice not having to cook for a change. The Huntington Hotel did a very fine job of it for me. And the Easter decorations that decorated the many food stations were very impressive.
An ice sculpture of the Easter bunny decorated this seafood display.
There were salads of every description…
a succulent sushi bar…
a charcuterie…
a carving station…
imported & domestic cheeses…
and a pretty display of delicious breads.
But in truth it was the huge array of artful desserts that really got our attention!
I will say that this Easter indulgence is not inexpensive, especially for a large group. Be prepared to pay $105 per person for adults and $42 for children ages 4-12.
