HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT UNIQUE WEDDING GIFT
Hi there! Well, June is wedding season, and if you’re like me, you may have been invited to several upcoming wedding celebrations.
I know how challenging shopping for a wedding gift can often be. In fact, we attended a wedding recently and by the time I went online to order from the bridal registry, everything I liked had been purchased. As a result I had to get creative and look for alternate gift ideas. So today I thought I’d share with you how to find the perfect unique wedding gift.
Gold Candelabra By My Company “The Hill Ironworks”
A Personalized Present
I am a big fan of personalizing items for my family and friends. It means you’ve taken the extra time to create something unique that they definitely won’t be getting from anyone else. Companies like Personal Creations have lots of wedding gift ideas that utilize personalization to make for a unique present, made especially for the wedding couple. You can use photos from their social media pages to make a photo canvas, have some home décor customized with their names or initials, or use your imagination to make a special gift that’s just right for them.
The Gift of a Clean House
Brad and I travel a lot and before we venture off I go a bit crazy cleaning the house. There is nothing worst then returning home from vacation to a messy house with expired food in the fridge. I want to arrive home to a perfect place, with crisp, clean sheets on the bed, as I’ll likely be spending a lot of time there recovering from jet lag.
So, in my way of thinking, why not give the gift of a clean house to a bride & groom? If the couple heads off for their honeymoon right after the wedding it’s likely their home has been left in disarray with the hustle and bustle that goes into getting ready for this milestone event. So instead of the bride & groom coming home to a less than perfect abode, you can make sure their place is spick and span and ready for them to embark on their new life together by hiring a cleaning service to get in and scrub up the place while they’re gone. Or, if you can’t arrange for the cleaning to be done while they honeymoon, a gift certificate for cleaning when it’s convenient for the couple is sure to be appreciated.
For the Book Loving Bride & Groom
As you know if you follow along here regularly, I belong to a Book Club.
But if truth, be told I’m often too busy to read as much as I’d like. However, there is nothing better than a captivating book to take along on my travels. For me it often makes long flights seem shorter if I’m riveted to a good read.
And since a wedding couple is likely making travel part of their honeymoon, I’ve found a great gift that will surely make honeymoon travel more enjoyable. And it’s a gift so unique it would never be expected. It’s a subscription service called TheBookDrop.com, whose mission it is to spread the love of reading by exposing people to really amazing books. They handpick book titles designed to fit a person’s personality and reading preferences, and once a month send off a box of books along with other fun stuff to the recipient. Helping a happy wedding couple discover fantastic reads by giving them marvelous books, books they probably would never have discovered otherwise seems about as unique as wedding gifts get, don’t you think? You might even choose a His & Hers gift set. Perhaps a historical fiction subscription for Her, and thriller novels for Him? A double-duty present that will be equally enjoyed by both the bride & groom. And they can trade each other for new titles once they finish their own box of books; this makes for a gift that truly keeps on giving.
A “Netflix and Chill” Date Box
With a college age son I’ve recently learned a “tongue-in-cheek” phrase that has become a moniker for date nights among young people: “Netflix and Chill”. Have you heard it? Well, why not capitalize on the hilarity of the popular phrase by creating a “Netflix and Chill” themed wedding gift basket. After throwing what was likely a very costly wedding, help the happy couple keep the romance alive by giving them a date night that doesn’t involve getting dressed up and spending a lot of money.
Instead they can enjoy a romantic evening at home with a basket or decorated hat box you’ve filled with a Netflix subscription, a boxed set of their favorite television shows or movies and some gourmet snacks. Throw in a good bottle of wine and a cozy blanket and they’ve got date night in a box, no assembly required. And because I’m a sucker for a good pun, make sure you throw in a gift certificate for a local ice cream spot, as you don’t want to leave out the “chill” portion of the date.
So, if you’re attending a wedding soon and want to find a unique gift that the couple won’t expect, I hope you’ll find these wedding gift ideas helpful.
