SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 12
Hi there! Thanks so very much for joining me here for Sundays With Celia Vol 12.
What I’m Up To This Sunday
As you read this I’ll be flying halfway across the country after helping my son Taylor get settled in his new apartment in Chicago.
For the next 3 years he will be attending the University of Chicago Law School, which by the way was founded in 1902 by a coalition of donors led by John D. Rockefeller. I thought that was interesting. Now, 114 years later it is going strong as the #3 ranked Law School in America. Can you tell I’m a proud mama that my baby boy is going to this prestigious institution?
It may be a great law school but they have really mundane Graduate Student Housing. Taylor will be living in a tiny studio apartment in a building owned by the University. So my mission this week was to help him make this little space (filled with 70’s style oak furniture that I’d give anything to take some chalk paint to) as livable as possible. Check back here next week for an update on what we accomplished.
I know that one of the things my son is going to miss the most while he is off becoming an attorney in Chicago is his girlfriend Ann who is off becoming a doctor at PENN Med School in Philadelphia. When Ann isn’t learning to save lives she likes to bake. In fact, she calls it “Procrasta Baking” (which I think is absolutely hilarious) because whenever she doesn’t feel like studying she likes to bake. Wouldn’t you just love to know that your doctor is also a great baker? It kinda makes them more human, don’t ya think? And I love Ann an extra special amount because as a woman who likes to cook, she is a woman of my own heart.
So speaking of baking…
A Great Recipe I Found over on GBakes.com
Did you know that Sandra Bullock has a blogging sister? Well, yes she does and her name is Gesine Bullock-Prado from the blog called G Bakes! She is an accomplished pastry chef, author, TV personality and yes, she is also an attorney. Talk about an accomplished woman from an accomplished family! Anyway, I follow her blog and she recently published a fantastic recipe for a Creamy Artichoke and Heirloom Tomato Tart. I decided to serve it as an appetizer course at a dinner party I recently hosted. After all, it’s tomato season!
Everyone loved it and I’m sure you will too. So get the recipe over on Gesine’s blog here and cook some up. You’ll be very glad you did.
Boys Run In My Family
So, if you know me you know I have 4 wonderful sons. I also have one brother who has 2 wonderful sons. Boys run in my family! That’s why we were all so delighted when my oldest son’s oldest child was a wonderful little girl. FINALLY! I showed you some cute photos of her last week on Sundays With Celia. Well this week my darling nephew Casey sent me some amazing photos from his recent backpacking trip in California’s beautiful High Sierras.
I asked him if I could share a few of his photos with you because I thought they were absolutely stunning! Isn’t our world beautiful? And isn’t my nephew a tidy camper. You should see his condo…can you say neat freak. He’s gonna make a great husband one day.
So there you have it: SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 12
Thanks so much for dropping in!
