MY CHRISTMAS TABLE AND DIY PLACE CARDS
My Christmas Table and DIY Place Cards
Greetings and thanks so much for stopping in on Christmas Eve. We have arrived home from our cruise to Central America just in time for the arrival of all our kids who are coming in from Chicago, Philadelphia & Washington, DC. So we will be enjoying Christmas with the entire family here in Lake Arrowhead this year. Snow is coming in and we anticipate a beautiful white Christmas. What a contrast from the 90 degree humid weather we have been experiencing for the past 8 days in the Caribbean! So…bring it on!!
Before we left on our cruise I decorated the house for Christmas and even set the table for Christmas dinner. So today I thought I’d show you my Christmas table and DIY place cards. Brad gave me an early Christmas present, a new IPhone 7S which is purported to take great photographs. So, I shot these photos of my Christmas table with my new phone. I have to agree, it did a great job.
So, let me show you how I made my DIY place cards. I started with some small, folding wooden easels. Since my table setting was done in gold I had to improvise and paint my easels with metallic gold spray paint.
I then purchased tiny gold picture frame ornaments at a local wholesale floral supply called Shinoda’s in Orange County, California.
I mounted the tiny picture frames in the gold easels. Instead of adding a photo I wrote each of my dinner guest’s names with gold ink inside each frame and voila, a pretty gold place card was born.
The small gold frames came in oval and rectangular shapes so I bought an equal number of both and staggered them around the table.
I’ll be serving my usual holiday fare on Christmas. Here’s our menu…
Prime Rib of Beef
Fresh Creamed Horseradish
Yorkshire Pudding
Creamed Corn
Creamed Spinach
Here’s wishing you a wonderful holiday. Thank you so very much for following along here at After Orange County. I am ever so grateful to you.
