MAGNIFICENT RITZ-CARLTON BUDAPEST CLUB LOUNGE
Greetings and thanks so much for popping in today. I’m so happy you are here to explore the magnificent Ritz-Carlton Budapest Club Lounge with me.
If you’ve been following along lately you’ll know that on our recent trip to Budapest, Hungary, we stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. It truly was one of our best-ever hotel experiences. This was due in no small part to the time we spent in the magnificent Ritz-Carlton Budapest Club Lounge. It really and truly made our trip!
That’s because the ambience was great, the staff of young, informative, helpful and engaging concierges were delightful, and the folks we met in the lounge were especially interesting. As it turned out, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are Producing a movie called The Spy Who Dumped Me staring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live. The Line Producer and his girlfriend were actually living at the Ritz-Carlton Budapest while he worked on pre-production for the movie, which would be filmed in part in Budapest. Every night we’d run into them in the Club Lounge, where we’d talk over an after dinner drink. They were so down-to-earth, very nice, and interesting to spend time with. So that made our stay at the hotel extra special and memorable.
Really, anything you could wish for or need was available in the lounge. Breakfast, lunch, high tea, hor d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert and cocktails were served from early in the morning to late at night. We enjoyed a great breakfast there every morning, starting with my mandatory cafe latte which I prepared in their elaborate coffee machine that could produce any type of coffee one could dream of.
There were breads, muffins and pastries of every description, displayed beautifully in a variety of inventive ways. That’s delicious Hungarian butter in those little tubes.
You could top your bread with 4 different types of Hungarian honey or with a variety of fruit preserves.
An array of cereal with any number of toppings were offered along with cold cuts, cheeses and fruit.
Hot offerings such as eggs, breakfast meats and hot cereal was also available along with various fruit juices.
I wish I could start my morning this way everyday!
If our sightseeing afforded us the opportunity to return to the hotel midday, we would enjoy lunch in the Club Lounge as well. Here we could prepare our desired type of sandwich using delicious fresh bread, cold cuts, smoked fish and numerous types of cheese.
There were do-it-your-way salad fixings or a selection of premade small salads that were displayed on a refrigerated slab of marble. Ingenious!
I selected a couple of the premade miniature sandwiches, almost too cute to eat, and a delicious lemonade from the beverage refrigerator that was stocked with every imaginable soft drink.
As I understand it, pickled vegetables are a staple in the Hungarian diet, so there was an offering of this as well.
After long days of sightseeing we looked forward to returning to the Club Lounge for cocktails and appetizers. You could mix your own drink or have one of the helpful staff members do it for you. And if you desired a brand or type of alcohol not on display, they would fetch it for you from the hotel bar.
I love a gin and tonic and they even had a variety of tonics to choose from.
If wine was on your mind that was available on tap from a special wine dispensing machine.
We were tempted by the attractive display of small bites as well, but had to save room for our dinners.
I just loved the way in which they displayed the cheese in these beautiful glass domes with leather handles. So guess what, I found out where you can purchase them! Just click here. It’s a UK company but they ship free to the US.
One could easily have made a meal of all this, which included some hot food offerings as well, but we chose to have dinner at several different nearby restaurants each night. However, we tried to save room for the very attractive dessert bites and after-dinner drinks served in the lounge each evening.
In addition to small pastries, tempting candies and cookies were on display. You could gain weight just looking at all of the wonderful selections!
Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Budapest exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Budapest. And by the way, I was not compensated in any way for this blog post. I simply loved the hotel. If you want to see the room we occupied click here.
