DINING ON THE DOCK AT SUNSET
DINING ON THE DOCK AT SUNSET
I have just spent the most wonderful weekend with my DC dwelling son and grandchildren. They came for a few days to help us celebrate my husband, Brad’s, birthday.
The kids just can’t get enough of the lake when they are here…
so much of our weekend was spent building sand castles…
and taking speedy spins around the lake, which my grandson finds completely exhilarating.
After a late afternoon boat ride we returned to the dock…
where a little down time was enjoyed by all.
Sunset is a lovely time to be at the lake. The boats speeding past with wake-boarders in tow have all gone home, the waters are still, and a light breeze sets in to cool us off.
And the skies become golden.
One extra benefit I enjoy when my DC dwelling son comes to town is the fact that he often takes over in the kitchen. And he is one heck of a terrific chef!
That evening he prepared for us the most delicious Vietnamese Chicken, served with a Vietnamese Herb Salad and Jasmine Rice. Good food, great ambience and a loving family. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Stay tuned and I’ll be sharing with you his delicious Vietnamese recipes real soon.
So there you have it: DINING ON THE DOCK AT SUNSET
