SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 65

Hi my friends! Thanks for being here today for Sundays With Celia Vol 65.

SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 65 | www.AfterOrangeCounty.com

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on Sunday and I’m glad to be back. I probably don’t need to tell you that I’ve been a bit busy, having hosted my son’s wedding here at our home. It was a perfectly perfect event in every way, no snafus, no regrets, everything went seamlessly, and I think everyone had a fantastic time. I look forward to sharing lots more of the beautiful wedding in upcoming blog posts, so please stay tuned. But for now…

Looking Back On Sunday

This week I posted my first post-wedding, wedding blog post entitled Amazing DIY Wedding Flowers On A Budget. We made all of the decor wedding flowers ourselves and despite a bit of trepidation about being able to pull that off, it turned out better than I could have dreamed! The best part was that by doing the wedding decor flowers ourselves we got far more arrangements than we would have if we had purchased them. Click here to see the post, which gives you links to all my flower making resources as well.

Also this week I showed you how I went about Decorating For Fall With DIY Cloth Pumpkins. My house was so dreary after the wedding flowers were dead and gone that I used the flower urns as vessels for my DIY cloth pumpkins. It truly cheered up my home. If you missed that post click here.

Fall Has Arrived In Lake Arrowhead

I have a routine that I follow every morning. First I make myself a Cafe Latte. Then I take a few moments to watch the birds who flock to my courtyard fountain in the first light of day. This morning I couldn’t help noticing how the morning light filtered through the changing leaves on our birch trees.

And all of a sudden, seemingly overnight, the leaves on our Boston Creeper have turned a lovely crimson color.

And the leaves on our Red Bud tree are no longer green but bright yellow. I have lived in Lake Arrowhead for 15 years now and I must say that this year the changing of the leaves is more stunning than ever. If you live in Southern California and want to witness fall color, hurry on up to Lake Arrowhead. It is truly the most spectacular Fall ever. New England ain’t got nothing on us;)

A Spooktacular Book Club

I’ve told you about my simply fantastic Book Club before on this blog. I feel so blessed to be a part of this really special group of multi-talented, wonderful women, one of whom just happens to be the bride of the creator of Chucky. You know, Chucky, as in the horror film!

The Actual Figures Made for the Film By Tony Gardner

Well every year our dear friend Cindy hosts us in her spectacularly decorated home for Halloween Book Club and this year was no exception. We call ourselves the Well “Red” Book Club, as in Red Wine. So as you can see, wine is never in short supply.

And we dine pretty well too. This was our delicious Butternut Squash Soup with Fried Sage, prepared by Cindy’s talented daughter.

In keeping with our Halloween theme my contribution to the meal were these Spidery Deviled Eggs.

They are easy and fun to make. After hard-boiling the eggs crack the eggshells. Then cover the eggs with water and add enough black food coloring to turn the water opaque black. Place the eggs in the fridge for about an hour, then remove the shells to reveal the spider-webbed looking eggs. Slice them in half lengthwise and remove the yolks. Add your desired amount of mayonnaise, country dijon mustard, green food coloring and salt and pepper (all to taste) and beat them up using a hand mixer until creamy smooth. Pipe or scoop the egg mixture back into the egg white shells, sprinkle with black sesame seeds, and take them to your own Halloween Book Club!

Some Musical Entertainment On Sunday

In closing I thought I’d leave you with this beautiful duet between Andrea Bocelli and his equally talented son Matteo. It is simply magical. ENJOY!
