SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 67
Hello and thanks for joining me for Sundays With Celia Vol 67. I want to start by saying how sad I’m feeling for all the people in California who have been displaced due to the terrible wildfires ravaging our state. I have been there and done that and feel your pain. Sending hopeful wishes to everyone affected.
Celebrating Birthdays On Sunday
I’m very excited because my DC dwelling son and my grandchildren arrived for a visit to celebrate his birthday. I had a little celebratory dinner party for him last night.
Because his birthday is right before Thanksgiving I rarely get to celebrate with him on his actual birthday. We usually celebrate the day after Thanksgiving when the family gathers together from all across the country. But I won’t be spending Thanksgiving with him this year, a first, so it’s awfully nice he came to town for a visit.
It’s My Blog’s Birthday Too!
It occurred to me that it’s not only my son’s birthday, but it’s my blog’s 5th birthday this month too! Hard to believe you and I have stuck it out all these years. Let me take this opportunity to thank you very much for being my virtual friend, for leaving lovely comments, and for following along here. I am humbled and very grateful.
Looking Back On Sunday
It was a special week here at After Orange County because I got to team up with 5 of my favorite bloggers to bring you our collective ideas on How To Rock Your Holiday Table.
Each one of these talented ladies brought a very different perspective to holiday table decor. My table was traditional in sparkly gold…
while other bloggers showed us everything from a wintery white wonderland tablescape…
to a modern Scandinavian look…
to a colorful Bohemian display…
to classic red…
to Rustic.

I shared lots more wedding photos and gave away a secret, telling you about my favorite online party supply vendor. Click here if you missed that post.
Final Season of House of Cards is on Netflix Now
OK, so I’m still trying to get up to date with my new favorite binge-watching show, Designated Survivor. But as soon as I am I’ll be spending time watching Claire Underwood as the county’s new Commander In Chief. Obviously Kevin Spacey had to go, but will Robin Wright be successful going it alone? What do you think?
Saying Goodbye to The House On Victoria Court
It was with a bit of both happy and sad that I turned over the keys to Victoria Court, my most recent fixer-upper, to the new owners this week. This one took a little longer to sell than normal because it got tied up in escrow during the prime summer selling season and then fell through. But I’m a big believer in fate and think it was meant to be, because the new owners are in love with the cottage. And the selling agent is also a big blog follower, which makes me very happy too. It warms my heart to know that all my hard work in transforming the ugly duckling into a swan was worth it! Now, on to the next one…
Joanna Gaines Has A New Book Out!
I’m a real fan of sweet, super talented, Joann Gaines, star of my favorite HGTV show, Fixer Upper. The multi-talented designer has a new book out called Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave. In it Joanna tells us how to create a home that reflects the personalities and stories of the people who live there. Using examples from her own farmhouse, which I adore, as well as a range of other homes, she gives readers practical steps for navigating and embracing their authentic design style. I can’t wait for my copy to arrive! Get your’s here.
Here’s wishing you a lovely Sunday and a great week to follow!
So there you have it: SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 67
