SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 95
Hello and welcome to Sundays With Celia Vol 95. I hope you’re having a great weekend, enjoying these nice Fall days.
Fall At My Home
Fall has definitely arrived in Lake Arrowhead, where the beauty of the season is evident everywhere I go. This week we enjoyed a glass of wine on our friend’s terrace. He lives on the Lake Arrowhead County Club golf course where fall is in its full glory. Isn’t it just stunning?
Looking Back On Sunday
In case you missed my post earlier this week I wanted to share with you a link to Checking Into The Kimpton La Peer Hotel. It was at this beautiful, new, West Hollywood hotel that our family recently enjoyed a wonderful time. Check out the post and join us for a tour of a beautiful “Design Suite” and experience the fantastic 10-course private luncheon we enjoyed.
Sharing A Favorite Blog
One of the best parts about being a Lifestyle Blogger is the virtual friends I have made through the blog. It’s kind of a sisterhood of sorts in the blogosphere, where like-minded bloggers often team up to help each other. One such blogger, who has been a friend and mentor to me since I began this blog over 6 years ago, is Cindy Hattersley of Rough Luxe Lifestyle blog. Cindy is a fantastic Interior Designer and shares her expertise and projects on her popular blog.
Cindy also has a gorgeous lake house near Paso Robles, California wine country. I celebrated my birthday with family and friends in Cindy’s beautiful Lake Naciemento home a few years ago and blogged about it here. Check out the post to see much more of Cindy’s lovely lake house.
Last week on Cindy’s Blog she posted a column that she does periodically called “Fun Stuff”. It gives Cindy a chance to acknowledge things she finds interesting on other blogs and around the internet. This time she included me in her Fun Stuff post (thank you Cindy), and featured my Fresh Peach Pie recipe. This is an example of how bloggers help to promote one another, while at the same time providing interesting content for the reader. Through Cindy I’ve become acquainted with many other blogs I find of interest too. I hope you’ll pay Cindy a visit either on her blog or on her beautiful Instagram page. While you are at it, please follow my Instagram page too!
Cinnamon Maple & Pecan Scones
Yesterday I spent the morning in Big Bear Lake where I met my clients to discuss the progress on the renovation of their cabin. Stay tuned and next week I hope to bring you an update on this very fun project.
Bathroom In Progress
I had seen a recipe for really yummy looking Cinnamon Maple & Pecan Scones over on another favorite website, JennySteffens.com, so I decided to whip up a batch of them to share with my clients. For the recipe pop on over to Jenny’s Blog here, and tell her I sent you;). I also love her online shop, where I have purchased several items for this design project.
DIY Cloth Pumpkins
This time of year one of my most popular posts from the past is my DIY Cloth Pumpkin Tutorial. It’s here that I show you how you can easily make cloth pumpkins to decorate for fall.
I can never get enough of my DIY cloth pumpkins, so every year I make more using natural pumpkin stems I’ve saved from the previous year.
This year will be no exception, as I plan to get together with a couple of friends and spend a day making more cloth pumpkins to display around my home or to give as gifts.
Today I had my husband bring my collection of cloth pumpkins up from the cellar and I’ll be spending the day decorating for fall.
A Delicious Documentary
Way back in July of 2014 I took you with me on a trip to one of America’s finest hospitality establishments. It’s called The Inn at Little Washington and our stay there proved to be one of the best hotel and dining experiences of my life. You can read about our epic stay in this post , this post, this post and this post. Yes, I liked it so much I actually dedicated 4 posts to the subject of the Inn, its restaurant & garden, and the town of Little Washington.
So it came as no surprise to me that culinary pioneer Chef Patrick O’Connell also earned three Michelin stars in the Washington D.C. guide last year.
Our Table at the Inn
Here are just a few examples of the delicious dishes we enjoyed while dining at the Inn at Little Washington.
Now, to give people a behind-the-curtains peek at the road that led to such accolades, The Inn at Little Washington is going to be featured in a documentary—The Inn at Little Washington: A Delicious New Documentary—set to be released on PBS in early 2020. I can’t wait to see it. In the meantime, here’s the official trailer giving us a delicious taste of what’s to come.
Well, here’s wishing you a lovely, relaxing Sunday afternoon.
So there you have it: SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 95
