Hello friends. Welcome to Sundays With Celia Vol 102. By now every blog you follow, every company you deal with, and every website you visit has a statement addressing the uncharted waters we are all facing at the moment. And by now you are probably tired of hearing these sentiments, however necessary they may be. I won’t bore you with another one, except to say that from my little corner of the blogosphere I’ve decided there is always room for beauty and inspiration. And there are still ways to spread joy and hope and friendship. It seems that the internet is the place we will be turning to during this challenging time, so I want to do my best to be a bright spot in your world. I consider you all truly valued friends and appreciate your presence here ever-so-much. So, I look forward to continuing to bring you home renovation inspiration, great recipes to try, and maybe even take you on some virtual trips to places around the world that I’ve visited, but haven’t yet found time to blog about.
BRINGING YOU HOME RENOVATION INSPIRATION
Since my universe revolves around bringing new life to old homes, I plan to continue to bring you inspiration for your own home. Now, more than ever, your home needs to be a place of comfort, safety and beauty. And now that you’re spending so much more time at home, perhaps you can carve out some time to make your home a more enjoyable place to be. If you’re not the DIY type, use this time to plan for the day when you can once again hire others to make the home improvements you’ve been longing for. as well as the renovation I am currently working on in Lake Arrowhead. Yes, I’m in the middle of a home renovation for a client. And despite the fact that last Thursday night California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered all California residents to stay home, thankfully home construction is exempt from this order. My brother is currently doing the bulk of the work on this home as a solo contractor, so he and I will carry on, while trying to maintain the obligatory 6 feet of separation. Fortunately we tackled the exterior, fixing a house full of leaky windows, before the wet weather set in. Stay tuned for exciting interior progress!

THIS IS WHAT SPRING LOOKS LIKE IN LAKE ARROWHEAD
Yes, it was officially Spring last Thursday, however Lake Arrowhead didn’t get the memo.
We are still braving cold and snowy weather but no one is complaining, except maybe my rose bushes that were (prior to the snow) fooled into sprouting new leaves.
In 2019, after raining our way out of a multi-years-long-draught, this year we were back to being quite literally high and dry. Drought conditions have once again returned to California, so everyone was hoping for a “March Miracle”. It appears it has come about!
We had 3 days of snowfall this week, and another 4 days of snow are predicted starting tonight. If we must stay inside, at least we can get cozy by a roaring fire, while servicing the draught at the same time.
Hopefully, a wet Spring will bring us great lake conditions by summer. And we can keep the faith that healthy conditions will allow us to enjoy it.
I’M JUST THANKFUL I DON’T LIVE IN LAKE ERIE!
Here in Lake Arrowhead, California the wet weather has been welcome, and has actually encouraged us to shelter in our homes. However, for the poor folks living in Lake Erie, home is not so toasty. Can you imagine sheltering at home under these conditions?
SO, I’LL ADMIT I’M A BIT CRAZED OVER THIS VIRUS SCARE
My natural survival instinct has kicked in big-time, probably a result of spending too much time listening to the radio and watching news programs on TV. My husband has never been the germaphobe I am, and while we aren’t going out and exposing ourselves to the rest of humanity, he does go to the post office daily. I visit my job site daily and we have made a couple of trips to the market. When I caught my husband entering the house without washing his hands I freaked out and posted this sign on the door leading from our garage to the mud room.
My hands are now red, chapped, cracking and even bleeding. Thankfully I got myself a large jar of my favorite hand cream, NO-CRACK SUPER HAND CREAM. It’s unscented and it’s not greasy.
