SUNDAYS WITH CELIA VOL 43
Greetings and welcome to Sundays With Celia Vol 43. I know it has been a while since I did a Sundays With Celia post. The House On Cottage Grove has simply gotten in the way. But now that it has been completed and is on the market, I’ll have a bit more time to devote to this blog.
Looking Back On Sunday
This week I invited you to sail away with me on Uniworld’s S.S. Maria Theresa, the beautiful river sailing vessel we enjoyed for a magnificent cruise down the Danube River. I’ll also treat you to some mouthwatering shots of the delicious food they served during our voyage.
Last Sunday I was busy preparing for a Fall Dinner Party we hosted to thank our friends for lending us their darling trailer for our trip to Yosemite. I shared my menu, recipes, tablescape and fall decor in this post.
Our fall dinner party inspired me to decorate the house with my DIY cloth pumpkins. This is probably the earliest I have ever decorated for fall and I’m glad I did. It will give me a little time to enjoy it before the Christmas season sets in.
Trip Planning & Destination Weddings
My cousin is currently sailing down the Rhine River on her own Uniworld Cruise. She is taking the same voyage we did 2 years ago on the S.S. Marie Antoinette which I blogged about here. Our cruise down the Rhine concluded in Switzerland, where we then went on to enjoy an additional week in the Swiss Alps. While in Switzerland I’m sorry we didn’t visit this unbelievable place…
I just learned about this Guest House Restaurant, called Berggasthaus Aescher-Wildkirchli in Weissbad, Switzerland, while reading about 5 Remote Restaurants Around The World Worth Traveling To. I’m adding this place to my bucket list for sure!
And speaking of travel, my blogger friend Tina, from The Enchanted Home, just returned from her own dream trip to the lake region of Italy. She was there to attend what looked like an amazing, fairytale wedding. Because of my son’s recent engagement I’ve got weddings top-of-the-mind at the moment. Check this wedding out. I bet you’ll be putting Lake Como & the Villa D’Este on your own bucket list.
And speaking of weddings, this destination wedding that took place in Venice, Italy, really blew me away! I learned about it on my friend Vanessa’s blog, Reviving Charm, who in fact is currently on her own trip to Italy. Can you imagine that this elaborate affair was planned for only 12 very special guests?
What I’m Watching
This week a new season of “This Is Us” began. Did you watch it? I’m not a huge fan of network TV but really enjoy this award winning drama that just picked up more accolades at the recent Emmy’s. For me this show is real, heartwarming, emotion grabbing, true life stuff that so many people can relate to.
OKkkkkk, have you had a chance to wipe your tears yet. Sorry about that.
There haven’t been any big screen movies that have called me to the theater in quite awhile. But, this weekend I hope to go see Victoria and Abdul. British history has always fascinated me, and I’m anxious to learn more about this true royal scandal. Plus, Judi Dench makes mature women look like they’ve got it all goin’ on.

Next week I’m taking you with me to Bratislava, Slovakia. Bet you can’t find Bratislava on a map. I couldn’t until last May when I visited this city that just happens to be one of the most important cities on the Danube.
